Blaine's Funeral
I’ve made some planes for the next chapter of The Year Without Him, which will be Blaine’s funeral, and I thought I’d share them here, if anyone’s interested.
- Kurt and Coop sings “Without You” from Rent
- Kurt breaks together during his speech, and Coop steps up to support him, alongside Finn
- Blaine’s father shows up after the ceremony, and is one of the coffin-bearers
- Coffin is put into a car and drives away to the place where Blaine will be cremated
- In the middle of that night, though exhausted, Kurt sneaks away with the urn to place it with the tombstone he set up the day before, inside the clearing
- He keeps a pinch of the ash in a small bottle he wears on a chain around his neck with Blaine’s engagement ring and both their wedding rings
- He comes home the morning after, his previously crisp suit dirt-smeared and ruined, to see everyone in an uproar and police cars outside
- He had decided not to leave a note to tell them where he went; not only because he did not want the others to go after him, but because he did not want anyone else to know of their secret place, and - most of all - because he himself was unsure of whether or not he would leave that place alive
